Job Description : Tommy Rocks Store Salesperson
Hours: Roughly 6 - 20 H.P.W. including weekends. $ 15.00 / hr Hoping to fill the position immediately.
Job Requirements: I'm looking for INSTRUMENT SALES applicants who:

Is good at interacting with people in a retail environment and know how to close sales.

Able to play stringed instruments including ukulele, guitar, bass and other instruments that we carry.

Have a diverse musical and instrument knowledge, including knowledge of vintage bands and albums.

Be detail-oriented and self-driven, with a keen eye for merchandising the store.

Have a positive cheery, outgoing attitude and greet every customer warmly.
-
A Google account and Gmail that they have access to 24/7.
-
A working cell phone with texting and voicemail capabilities that they have access to 24/7.
-
Possess computer skills: Apple/Mac, Google account, word processing, spreadsheet knowledge, web design a plus.

Create daily / weekly posts on various social media platforms including Facebook and Instagram.
-
Create Craigslist ads for local online sales. Continually monitor and respond to CL inquiries via email.
-
Prior retail sales and management experience preferred.

Flexible hours; your hours will be determined by your SALES.

Your duties will include:
-
Open / Close store.
-
Run the daily operations of the store.
-
Input daily sales data on the computer.
-
Meet and greet every customer, and guide them into a purchase.
-
Contact Tommy via phone call or text with any immediate questions.

Nightly : count the cash drawer and fill in the nightly cash report.

Do periodic inventory.
-
Clean store / continually merchandise (arrange) inventory.

Before leaving: Fill humidifiers/change humidifier filters when necessary.
Salesperson Duties: General Salesperson duties will include :
1. Opening / Closing duties: (see attached)
2. Responsible for selling instruments, musical accessories and music-related gifts. Owner will track daily sales via the Internet.
3. The Salesperson will also act as a Cashier, physically ringing up the sale and entering the sales data online.
4. Responsible for merchandising (arranging) the store and effectively interacting with customers. Once customers leave the store area, salesperson will re-merchandise (reorder patches and stickers, make sure t-shirts are folded neatly and in order from small to XXL, and make sure that albums are all leaning to the back of the crate, that LPs are in their respective crates, and that the most attractive LPs up front.
5. The Salesperson is responsible for assisting customers in choosing the correct instrument and or LP for their needs. Also, ASK FOR ADD-ON SALES: tuners, cases, humidifiers, strings, batteries, etc.
6. The Salesperson can also demonstrate a few of the instruments so the customer can get a better idea of what each sounds in order to close the sale. If an item is not in stock, the Salesperson will first try to close the sale with store inventory. ONLY, if not able to close the sale, take a special order for future delivery.
7. Other functions performed as a Record Store Clerk include assisting customers in finding albums and other merchandise, helping patrons locate a certain album or on deciding which album they should buy for themselves or someone else. It is imperative that the salesperson know what is in stock in the store.
8. Cleaning the store on a daily basis.
9. DAILY MAINTENANCE :
DAILY : Refill humidifiers. At night, turn them up to the “high” setting.
DAILY : Tune and clean EVERY instrument. Check every instrument for needed repairs / setups.
Notify Tommy if a guitar needs extensive repair.
10. Other duties include daily cash reports, data entry and taking inventory of existing merchandise.

Set-Up / Repair / restring guitars, ukuleles, mandolins and other instruments as necessary.
